Some trailers have different ball sizes. We have two or three different trailers at work with different ones.

We just changed out all the hitches for 2-5/16". Too many instances of hitches coming off because someone dropped a 2-5/16" trailer on a 2" ball.

For the most part, we use specific trucks for specific trailers, so it’s a non-issue.
